How to read the Good Sam Rating 10/10 /10. The three-number rating that accompanies each campground listing in the directory gives readers an at-a-glance assessment of a campground's amenities, cleanliness and environment. The previous owners always was out on the sites checking around. We spent a night there and did not see one person drive around checking on things in the park. They was 10 across the board in my opinion. We will stay again and hopefully the new owners will maintain the park as good or better than the previous owners. Very disappointed in the maintenance on these trails. Well this time they was in terrible condition. We always walk our dogs on the trails because they was all ways well maintained. This was an older person I hope he is not the owner. He point at the site and said good night. The person that took us to our site was not very friendly and did not even stay around to see if we had questions. Found out she was the daughter in law of the new owners.
The lady at check in was nice and pleasant. So far the sites was level and nice just like always. We found out the owners sold the camp last September. We also notice trees and bushes was not kept up as they usually are at this site. Coming into the entrance was nice but notice lawns needed to be mowed. We stayed at the nugget campsite in a 38 ft fifth wheel. We originally reserved for 2 nights, but were so impressed stayed another night. Lastly, they are relentless at maintaining the the park and grounds. The park has the nicest laundry, swimming pool, showers children's playground. They guide you to you site and help you get situated. then voluntarily took us in the cart and showed us alternate available sites.
Although we reserved a site ahead of time, upon arrival they asked a few questions about our site likes and dislikes. It's family owned and they are probably the most friendly and helpful folks you'll meet anywhere. Gravel sites and interior roads don't detract. Beautifully treed and landscaped with lawns, flowers and shrubs. Nestled in the mountains on 160 acres with numerous walking/biking/hiking trails. This campground is one of the few that met or succeeded Good Sam's rating. Rarely do I write campground reviews, but felt compelled to write one about the Nugget.
